Transcribe Meetings in 18 Languages, Including French

Continuum now transcribes meetings in 18 languages and can follow a conversation that switches between them. Set English, French, both, or multi-language detection in one place.

Canadian practices do not run in one language. A meeting in Montreal moves between French and English in a single sentence, and a growing number of advisors serve clients in Mandarin, Portuguese, Arabic or Hindi. Continuum now transcribes meetings in 18 languages and can follow a conversation as it switches between them.

Supported languages

English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Hebrew, Hindi, Japanese, Mandarin, Norwegian, Swedish, Turkish and Vietnamese. The Continuum app itself stays in English; the transcript and summary follow the meeting.

Tell Continuum what to expect

There are three choices. English, the default. French, for meetings held in French. Or Multi-language, which detects the language as people speak and follows the conversation when it switches. You can also select English and French together if your meetings mix the two, which makes Continuum lean strongly toward those languages while still following a real switch to another.

Change it from the live transcript, using the language button in the top right of the transcript panel, or from Settings, then General, then Transcription language. It is one setting for your account, so both places stay in sync, and it applies to every meeting until you change it.

Summaries and translation

Your AI summary is written from the transcript, so a French meeting produces a French summary. If you need it in the other language, ask: “Translate this summary to French Canadian.” The same works for Pages, so a bilingual household can receive the deliverable in the language each member prefers.

Why it matters

A note-taker that only works well in English leaves French-language meetings documented less carefully than English ones. Regulators expect the record to reflect what was actually discussed, in whatever language it was discussed. Multi-language transcription keeps the standard consistent across your whole book.

Open Settings, then General, then Transcription language to set yours.
