What New Outlook Wealth’s Bet on AI Means for Everyday Canadians

New Outlook Wealth has named Continuum its dedicated AI partner. Here’s what that choice says about where Canadian advice is heading, and who it’s for.

Most technology in wealth management arrives one advisor at a time. Someone tries a tool, likes it, and tells a colleague. It’s rare for a firm to look at its whole network and decide that one platform belongs in front of every advisor.

That’s what New Outlook Wealth (NOW) has done. Today NOW named Continuum its dedicated AI partner, available to all advisors across their network.

We think this matters beyond our two companies, because of the kind of firm NOW is and the clients it was built to serve.

A firm built for the clients the industry overlooks

NOW was founded on an idea that still runs against the grain of the industry, good financial planning shouldn’t be reserved for people with seven-figure portfolios. Its advisors focus on planning. Investment management is handled by third-party portfolio managers. Fees don’t climb as accounts grow, and there’s no million-dollar minimum to get started.

That model only works if advisors spend their time where it counts. An hour lost to meeting notes and data entry is an hour that doesn’t go to a client, and when you serve everyday Canadians, that hour matters more, not less.

So NOW asked a simple question of every tool it considered: “does it give our advisors more time to plan?”. Answering that question at the firm level meant looking past the demo, at how the platform handles client privacy, how access is managed across teams and assistants, and where client data lives. A firm doesn’t make that call on a feature list. It makes it after the people responsible for operations have looked hard and agreed it belongs in front of clients.

Beyond note-taking, making advice visible for every client

Continuum captures meeting intelligence without sending a bot into the call, whether the conversation happens on Zoom, Teams, by phone or across a kitchen table. The advisor stays present with the client, and Continuum stays out of the way.

After the meeting, the work that usually eats an advisor’s evening is already done: a compliance-ready summary, an updated client profile, follow-up tasks, and notes that flow straight into Maximizer, where NOW advisors already work.

Then comes the part clients actually see. Pages turns each meeting into a polished, client-ready microsite with what was discussed, what was decided and what happens next. For a client who has never had a wealth manager before, that follow-through is often the difference between feeling like a number and feeling like someone has a plan for them. It’s the standard of service NOW has always believed every Canadian deserves, delivered after every meeting.

A Canadian bet, from the Prairies out

NOW is a Winnipeg firm, and Winnipeg is where two of our co-founders grew up, so this partnership feels a little like coming home. But the point is bigger than geography. Continuum was built for Canada first – for how advisors here run their practices, the compliance expectations they work under, and the clients they serve. Client data is encrypted and stored in Canada.

We don’t believe AI should replace advisors. We think it should make great advisors faster and more consistent, and give them back the time to do the part of the job only a person can do. NOW’s decision is a vote of confidence in that view, and in the idea that better advice can reach more Canadians, not fewer.

We’re proud to be building that future with Mike, Yev and the whole NOW team.
