Talk Instead of Type: Dictation Comes to Continuum

Every AI composer in the Continuum desktop app now has a microphone. Dictate a quick question in chat or a detailed brief for a Page, and Continuum takes it from there.

The best instructions for an AI are the ones you would give a sharp associate out loud. Typing them is where most people cut corners. Continuum now lets you dictate a prompt wherever you see the microphone button, from a quick question in the Ask bar to a detailed brief when creating a Page.

How it works

Click the microphone in any AI composer in the desktop app and start talking. Your words appear in the field as you speak. Click again to stop, review the text, and send. It works on the Ask Continuum page, in the Ask bar, and when creating Pages and templates.

Where it shines

Dictation earns its place on long or detailed requests. When creating a Page, click the microphone and say: “Create a Page for the Smiths that summarizes their retirement goals, compares the three scenarios we discussed, and ends with our recommended next steps.” That is a thirty-second sentence to say and a two-minute paragraph to type.

In chat, dictate requests like “Summarize the key decisions from this client meeting” or “Review this retirement plan and identify the assumptions I should pressure-test before presenting it to the client.” Continuum answers in the language you ask in, so a question dictated in French gets a French answer.

A few details

Dictation is available in the Continuum desktop app on Windows and macOS. The microphone is unavailable while Continuum is capturing a meeting, so the two never compete for your audio. Dictated text is just text: you can edit it before sending, and nothing is stored beyond the prompt itself.

Why we built it

Advisors told us the gap between what they wanted a Page to say and what they typed into the prompt was the biggest source of rework. Speaking closes that gap. Pair it with Page templates and you can brief a full client deliverable between meetings without touching the keyboard.

Open any AI composer in the desktop app and look for the microphone.
